Peter Loggins and Mia Goldsmith (New Orleans, LA)

Always two of the best dressed!
Peter Loggins and Mia Goldsmith paired together in 2006 to teach at the Herrang Dance Camp in Sweden, and have been a team ever since. Before partnering, they were internationally known for their individual achievements.
Peter is the foremost historian on American Jazz Dance. Credited for bringing back many of the dances that he learned from the original dancers of the 1920's and 30's, he brings a first-hand historical approach to his classes. We asked to have Peter in because he is such a wealth of knowledge about everything vintage-jazz! He carries his passion for the era in the way he dresses, the way he dances, and even the way he plays music. We can't wait to have him here in the Southeast to show us what it's all about--and to dance with, of course!
Mia, along with her incredible string of competition wins, has undoubtedly become known as one of the best Balboa Swing dancers in the world. Her unique approach to teaching is full of energy and creativity, bringing a passionate and motivated air to the duo's partnership. We wanted to have Mia in because she is the perfect combination of old-timey dancing and cheerful vintage charm! When she's dancing, it's hard to take notice of anyone else, and it's easy to see why all the original old-timers love to dance with her, too. To top it off, she has the best dresses ever! We can't wait to have her here with us to inject Cumberland Shuffle with her unique, antique glamour.
Together, these two have become famous for their footwork, improvisation, individual approach, and style. Their expansive knowledge of social jazz dances and the music that drove them allow students to learn the history of these dances and how they've evolved through the years.
